The Dark Knight

As a huge fan of action movies, I was stoked to see the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight”. With Christian Bale as Batman, he encounters different issues throughout the movie, mainly trying to stop the war on crime in the city of Gotham. The two and a half hour movie was packed full of surprises. I am definitely planning on going to see this dark, suspenseful movie again.

On the opening weekend, it set a box office record for opening weekend for Warner Bros. Yahoo stated it brought in $18.5 million from the opening night midnight screenings alone. With a total of $155.3 million in the opening weekend. It “…made more money in its opening weekend than the previous top-three-opening Batman movies (Batman Forever, Batman Begins, Batman Returns) made in their opening weekends—combined” (Yahoo).

For all those that have seen it, remember to not stay so serious.

For those who haven’t yet, check out the synopsis and trailers here.

I saw this movie on opening day at Midnight and I have to say it was well worth the wait! I am very much a comic book geek and bar none Dark Knight is the best superhero/comic movie ever made! From start to finish its non stop action, and just as in Batman Begins the casting of this movie was perfect. Now I know the Oscars love to snub comic/superhero movies when it comes for serious awards but Heath Ledger NEEDS to be recognized for his portrayal of the Joker! He makes the Jack Nicholson version look like a cute puppy dog. He was able to bring out the essence of The Joker in its darkest form, and it was awe inspiring to watch. So far the best movie I have seen all year!

I have to just add my two cents...clink, clink. Anything with the illustrious Mr. Christian Bale, I will pay to see!!!
